There are a few food things I miss about my home state: the state fair, being able to say that you’ve had lutefisk, lefse, knowing about Juicy Lucy, wild rice soup, cuisines with walleye and the various types of hot dish. Oh, the Green Giant and the PIllsbury Doughboy too.
But if I left New York, I don’t know if I could live without a dessert from Sugar Sweet Sunshine, red velvet from Two Little Red Hens, brunch at Five Points, gnocchi from Lupa and Aurora, the various wine bars and pizzerias, the Pickle guys, fries from Pomme Frites and T-Poutine, and a true New York style bagel from H&H (my personal favorite).
For those of you who do live in the New York City area, what would you miss if you had to move away?
