Lunch at Uncle Franky’s

Oh, Uncle Franky’s in Minneapolis. On the outside, it looks like it should be a shady biker bar or a questionable hot dog joint but no: it’s a booze-free, family friendly establishment with Scooby-Doo toys on the window sill and Cartoon Network on the television.

They have a delicious selection of sandwiches, hot dogs, and sides to go with the former and the latter. The food is solid, delicious, and comforting, and you can’t help but think that this place possesses a slice of Americana — you start to think about baseball games…roadside diners…road trips. So what should you eat there?

Chicago-style hot dog.

And chili cheese fries.

They also have a wide selection of sandwiches — check out the menu. My goal is to try every single one at least once but I don’t want to write about the sandwiches right now because I’m going to get really really hungry…

I used to live in an apartment right by Uncle Franky’s. I’m talking “look out my living room window and see the joint”...
