Things I Did This Weekend: Minnesota State Fair Affair

As you may know, Minnesota is my home state and I do miss it sometimes. There was a mock Minnesota State Fair at The Bell House in Brooklyn on Sunday (3/20) and it was an opportunity for me to have a little piece of home. I was practically counting down the days because I was stupidly excited. Stupidly.

The organizers for the “Minnesota State Fair Affair” event did a great job in recreating Minnesota State Fair activities like the butter sculptures:

There was also a Food on a Stick Contest since Minnesota is known for serving food things on sticks (because…just because, okay?):

Minnesota Senator (and SNL alumni) Al Franken got to pick the winner!

I did participate in the food on a stick contest but I didn’t win (and that’s okay!). For my next recipe post, I’ll share my Food on a Stick entry. It’s savory and so very Minnesotan!
